Leah holds a PhD in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Washington. She has been an active NACADA member since 2008, and she is currently the Region 8 Chair. Leah Panganiban (she/her/hers) is the Assistant Director of Academic Student Services for the University of Washington Master of Science in Data Science program. ![]() She has presented and written on peer advising, allyship, supervision, and leadership. She is the incoming Vice President for 2020-2021. She currently serves as a member of NACADA’s Board of Directors and in this capacity, she is a liaison to the Working Group on Race, Ethnicity, and Inclusion. She has been a NACADA member for over 16 years. Megumi Makino-Kanehiro (she/her/hers) is the Director of the Mānoa Advising Center for Exploratory Students at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. ![]() She joined NACADA in 2017 and co-presented at the Region 8 Conference on “Supporting Students Post-Election: Impacts of Trump presidency and how advisors can help.” Sisouvanh Keopanapay (she/her/hers) is an Academic Advisor and an Internship Coordinator for the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology at Washington State University. She has published a number of articles through Academic Advising Today on working with Chinese international students, race and racism and International Students, and also how Advising Administrators can support and promote diversity. She joined NACADA in 2008 and has been involved in a number of advising communities, committees, and was part of the 2009 - 2011 Emerging Leaders class. Yung-Hwa Anna Chow (she/her/hers) is the Director of Advising for the College of Arts and Sciences at Washington State University.
